Have a question before joining the roster?
Here are some of the things workers ask us most often about registration, shifts, pay, safety, and getting started.
Frequently Ask and Questions (FAQs)
What kind of jobs does KAVRILO usually offer?
We mainly place workers into warehouse, manufacturing, and food production roles across Melbourne’s South-East. Common roles include pickers and packers, forklift drivers, process workers, machine operators, container unloaders, food production workers, and general hands.
Do I need warehouse experience to register?
Not always. Some roles require previous experience, while others are suitable for reliable workers with the right attitude and willingness to learn. If a role requires specific experience, licences, or site knowledge, we will let you know clearly before placement.
Do I need a forklift licence to get work?
Not for every role. We recruit for both forklift and non-forklift positions. If you hold a current LF or LO licence, that can open up more opportunities, but there are still many roles available for workers without forklift tickets.
What suburbs do you usually recruit for?
We focus on roles across Melbourne’s South-East, especially in Dandenong, Hallam, Keysborough, and Braeside, with nearby sites subject to availability. Where possible, we prioritise local placements so workers can travel shorter distances and arrive ready for shift.
How quickly can I start work?
That depends on the role, your availability, and whether your documents and checks are ready. Some workers can be placed quickly if they are available immediately and meet the site requirements. Others may need to wait until a suitable opportunity becomes available.
What documents do I need to register?
In most cases, you will need photo identification, proof of your right to work in Australia, tax and payroll details, superannuation details, bank details, and any relevant licences or tickets. We may also ask for a resume if you have one, although not every casual role requires it.
What should I wear and bring on my first day?
This depends on the site, but many warehouse and factory roles require steel-capped boots, high-vis clothing, and other site-specific PPE. We will tell you what is required before you start so you can arrive prepared and ready for work.
Will I receive an induction before starting?
Yes. We place strong importance on safe onboarding. Depending on the role and host site, you may receive induction information from KAVRILO, the host employer, or both before starting work.
Can I choose day shift, afternoon shift, or night shift?
We will always consider your availability when matching you to roles. Some workers are looking for day shift only, while others are open to afternoon, night, or weekend work. In general, broader availability can lead to more opportunities.
What if the job is not the right fit for me?
We encourage workers to raise genuine concerns early. If something is not right, contact us as soon as possible so we can understand the situation and respond appropriately. Clear communication is important for worker safety, site performance, and future opportunities.
When do I get paid?
We process payroll weekly. If your timesheet is submitted correctly and approved on time, your pay will be deposited into your account on the scheduled pay cycle.(subject to bank processing).
How does superannuation work?
Your superannuation is paid in line with applicable legal requirements into your nominated super fund, or your stapled/default fund where relevant. This is managed through payroll as part of your employment arrangements.
Who do I call if I am sick or cannot attend work?
You must contact us as early as possible if you are unable to attend a shift. Early notice helps us support the host client and manage shift coverage properly. We will provide the correct contact details during onboarding.
What if I’m running late?
Call us immediately. Late arrivals can impact the whole shift, so we need to notify the host site and manage expectations early.
Do you charge workers any fees?
No. There are no sign-up fees to join our roster.
How do timesheets work?
Your timesheet must be completed accurately and approved by the host supervisor. Late or unsigned timesheets may delay payroll.
Do you pay penalties and allowances?
Yes, where applicable under the correct award and site conditions (e.g., shift loadings). We’ll explain your pay details when confirming shifts.
Who is my employer — KAVRILO or the host site?
KAVRILO (Rise Workforce Pty Ltd) is your employer. You’ll work on-site at a host client under their day-to-day direction.
What happens if there’s a safety issue on site?
Stop and speak up. Report hazards to the host supervisor and contact KAVRILO. Safety is non-negotiable.
Can international students apply?
If you have valid work rights, yes. We’ll verify work rights before placing you. You are responsible for complying with any visa work conditions.
Can I register even if English is not my first language?
Yes. We work with people from diverse backgrounds. What matters most is that you understand the role, safety instructions, and site expectations. Where needed, we take extra care during onboarding to make sure key information is understood clearly.
Do you have ongoing work or only one-day shifts?
It depends on client demand. Some roles are short-term or shift-by-shift, while others can continue for longer periods if attendance, performance, and site requirements are strong.
Will I be paid award rates?
Yes. Workers are paid through payroll in line with the relevant workplace arrangements and applicable rates for the role. Where relevant, this includes casual loading and other lawful entitlements.
Do I need my own transport?
Not always, but reliable transport can improve your chances of placement, especially for early starts, afternoon shifts, or sites with limited public transport. We will always consider the site location and shift times when discussing suitable roles with you.
What happens after I register?
Once you register, we review your details, documents, licences, and availability. If a suitable role matches your profile, we will contact you to discuss the opportunity, site requirements, and next steps before placement.
